Academy
Virtual learning
The European Pirate Academy is a virtual and in-person simulation of European legislative negotiations. The goal is to provide a theoretical and practical foundation to European legislative negotiations to interested European citizens in a playful and humorous way. The virtual part of the academy is an online selection process.
Practical Learning in Brussels
The in-person simulation is a 2-day event on location in Brussels at the heart of the European Union. Come on and discover how the European Union really works. Speak with experts in the field. Meet Members of the European Parliament and become a European decision maker yourself!
Pirate Policy Courses
Discover the European Parliament the Pirate way - through play and experience
Why we use scenarios?
Why cenarDuring both parts of the course, participants will experience a roleplay scenario where they will take on roles of different stakeholders in the political process. The simulation intends then not to only review procedures, but to enable the participants to go work through conflicts, crisis, decision making under stress and experience consequences of their decisions. The simulations are hand crafted for the course and follow real contemporary issues connected with work of MEP Markéta Gregorová. At the same time, we will not shy away from learning, reading and discussing the issues. The course combines both approaches.
